CHICAGO FIELD STUDIES

Megan Whitaker is a PhD Candidate in Sociology at Northwestern University. She currently has two main lines of research:

1. The production and contestation of national narratives surrounding religious and racial histories and
2. Understanding health inequalities across racial and SES categories over time in the U.S. and U.K. Before her PhD, Megan earned her MPhil in Evidence-Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation at the University of Oxford, which increased her passion for policies that are effective in leading to human flourishing in all domains of society.

Outside of work, she loves long walks along Lake Michigan with her husband and baby son in the summers, and cozy warm drinks inside the rest of the year.
